Poet S. A. Fixin was born on August 2, 1907—February 13, 1978, in the city of Smolensk in the family of a civil servant. In 1918, he graduated from Smolensk City Primary School No. 10, in 1926—high school, and in 1928—workers' faculty.He began his working biography in 1918 as a laborer, loader, and wheelbarrow operator at a brick factory. From 1927 to 1941, he worked in the editorial offices of newspapers in the Bryansk and Smolensk regions. During the Great Patriotic War, he served as a military correspondent on the Western and Transcaucasian fronts. After being demobilized from the ranks of the Soviet Army, he arrived in Frunze and worked from 1945 in the editorial office of the newspaper "Soviet Kyrgyzstan," from 1949—"Komsomolets of Kyrgyzstan," and from 1952 until the end of his life—editorial secretary and head of the department at the magazine "Literary Kyrgyzstan."
In the 1920s, S. Fixin was a member of the Smolensk Literary Association, which became the foundation of the Smolensk Association of Proletarian Writers. It included leading Soviet poets M. Isakovsky, A. Tvardovsky, N. Rylenkov, and others. In 1934, together with A. Tvardovsky and N. Rylenkov, he wrote "Poems about Prosperous Life." S. Fixin's first publications appeared in print in 1925, and his first poetry collection "Forward Post" was published in 1932. He is the author of 20 original collections of poetic works and several translated editions of works by Kyrgyz poets A. Tokombaev, K. Malikov, M. Borbugulov, and others. His poems and poems titled "Torgoy" were published in 1969 in the Kyrgyz language.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1974).
Member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1949.
Awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the medal "For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," and honorary certificates from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz and Ukrainian SSR.
