
From 1914 to 1916, he worked as a shepherd for local landowners in Toguz-Toro with his father. From 1917, he engaged in agricultural work, and from 1921, he worked as a primary school teacher in the village of Jany-Talap in the Ak-Talinsky district. From 1924, he worked in the police department of Naryn city, and from 1933 to 1935, he was the chairman of the collective farm "Red October" (now the Ak-Kiya collective farm) in the Ak-Talinsky district. From 1950 to 1951, he served as the chairman of the village council of Ak-Talaa. In 1940—1942, he was the literary secretary of Togolok Moldo, with whom he collaborated for about 30 years. From 1942 until the end of his life, working at the Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz SSR, A. Chorobaev dedicated much effort to collecting poetic works of Kyrgyz folklore and the creative heritage of Togolok Moldo.
Since 1914, A. Chorobaev has been creating his original works and, having written them down, distributed them among the Kyrgyz people.
In 1918, he wrote the poem "Praise to Lenin." Many of the poet's works were dedicated to children.
Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz SSR (1976).
In 1945, he received a letter of gratitude from the Soviet government for providing material assistance for the construction of a military tank.
Member of the Union of Soviet Writers since 1940.
Awarded the medal "For Valorous Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941—1945," and the Honorary Diploma of the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Elected as a deputy of the Kulanak District Council of People's Deputies.
