Critic Kanaybek Edilbaev

Critic Kanybek Edilbaev Critic K. Edilbaev was born on December 5, 1952, in the village of Barskoon, Jeti-Oguz District, Issyk-Kul Region, in a peasant family. In 1969, he graduated from high school in his native village, and in 1976, he graduated from the philological faculty of the Kyrgyz State University named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR.

He began his labor biography in 1969 as a collective farmer in his native collective farm. From 1976 to 1977, he worked as a scientific editor at the Main Editorial Office of the Kyrgyz Soviet Encyclopedia, and from 1977 to 1979, he was a correspondent for the newspaper "Kyrgyzstan Madeniyati." Since 1979, he has been working in the editorial office of the magazine "Ala-Too": head of the department, deputy editor-in-chief.

He has been published since 1974. His first collection of literary-critical articles "Sez tagdyry" ("The Fate of the Word") was published in 1981. He is the author of two books and a number of literary-critical and literary studies articles and reviews.

He has been a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1988 and a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR since 1981.

He participated in the IV International Meeting of Young Writers from Asia and Africa, which took place in Frunze in September 1982.

He was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR.
