Broad-stamened Tulip
Tulipa platystemon Vved.

Status: VU. It is a critically endangered species, narrowly distributed endemic of the Alai Mountains (Sary-Biya Pass). The period of vegetation is short, flowers are yellow, flowering period in June; data about habitats, population, and cultivation are absent. Limiting factors: economic development of lands (pasturage in spring), massive collection of flowers and bulbs. Necessary for the species conservation: the creation of special botanical wildlife areas in sites with concentrated populations, organizing monitoring, prohibiting flower and bulb collection, and prohibiting pasturage.
