Jalal-Abad Deposit

Jalal-Abad Deposit is located on the left bank of the Kugar River valley on the southeastern outskirts of the city of Jalal-Abad, the second largest industrial and cultural center in the south of the republic. The mineral springs of Hazret-Ayub-Paygambara (the name of the village that existed before the war on the slope to the north of the modern resort) have been known to the local population for a long time, in times that can be called archaeological, as their traces are usually established through archaeological excavations. The first scientific information about these springs appeared in the 1980s when the Andijan district doctor Mezdriikov cured his sciatica here, measured the flow rate and temperature of the numerous springs, collected water samples, and sent them for analysis to Tashkent. Based on this data and the conclusion of a specially dispatched military medical inspector's expedition in 1886, the society of naturalists and doctors recognized the Jalal-Abad waters as healing, which led to the start of construction of a hospital, baths, a kitchen, and other services in 1887, and the following year, around 250 people were accepted for treatment. Thus, the Jalal-Abad resort became the very first officially recognized resort in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

In the composition of dissolved gases in the mineral waters of the Jalal-Abad deposit, nitrogen predominates, which in itself has no therapeutic value, but according to specialists, significantly reflects the conditions of underground water formation; considering these circumstances, the waters are referred to as nitrogen low-mineralized.

Some of the approved reserves are bottled at the plant in Jalal-Abad as therapeutic table carbonated water; during this process, it is artificially carbonated with carbon dioxide, which improves its consumer properties compared to the natural product.

Located in the dry climate zone of the Fergana Valley, but still relatively mild, at an altitude of only 1000 m, in picturesque surroundings with expressive panoramas, with large reserves of diverse mineral waters with varying properties and thus therapeutic effects, proximity to a large city, convenient transportation links to populated areas, and good traditions of effective treatment have created great popularity for the Jalal-Abad resort not only within the republic but far beyond its borders, ensuring a reliable guarantee of its promising future.
