From March 25 to 28, 2015, Bishkek will host the XII Annual Republican Festival of Children's and School Theaters, dedicated to International Theatre Day.
The festival is organized by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kyrgyzstan, the Ch.Aitmatov State National Russian Drama Theater, and the Russian Union of Compatriots (ROSS) with the support of the Embassy of Russia in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The main objectives of the festival include: engaging youth in theatrical culture, dramaturgy, and literature; developing the creative activity of the younger generation; supporting youth creativity; enriching the repertoire of children's theaters and educational institutions with Russian classical and contemporary dramaturgy, among others.
During the festival, school creative teams will showcase excerpts from performances based on works of classical and contemporary dramaturgy in Russian and Kyrgyz languages at the Ch.Aitmatov Drama Theater.
The festival will take place in three stages:
Stage 1. Grand opening. March 25. Start at 11:00.
Stage 2. Viewing of participants' works (small stage). March 26 – from 10:00 to 15:00; March 27 – from 10:00 to 18:00.
Stage 3. Grand closing of the XII Republican Festival of Children's and School Theaters of Kyrgyzstan. Nomination of theater groups, awarding laureates, prize-winners, and festival participants. March 28. Start at 11:00.
