"‘KULDJAK’ Exhibition Dedicated to the Memory of K. N. Usubaliev"

“KULDJAKE” exhibition dedicated to the memory of K. N. Usubaliev

Since November 9, an exhibition dedicated to the memory of K. N. Usubaliev (1920-2000), director of the G. Aitiev National Museum of Fine Arts (1959-1985), has been open

The exhibition features works that entered the collection of the G. Aitiev National Museum of Fine Arts thanks to the collecting activities of K. N. Usubaliev.

These are works of Russian and Soviet art acquired through her efforts in the 1960s, by authors such as: B.M. Kustodiev, I.E. Repin, M.A. Vrubel, K. Korovin, V.A. Serov, I. Shishkin, K. Yuon, M.P. Konchalovsky.

Later, works by P.N. Filonov, A.G. Tishler, A.D. Drevin, Z.E. Serebryakova, A.V. Kuprin, N.A. Udaltsova, and other artists were acquired.

Along with enriching the museum's collection, Kuldzhake Niyazalievna did a great deal for the establishment of the museum. Departments of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative applied arts, restoration, and propaganda of visual arts were created in the museum.

Working with a team of highly professional art historians and museum staff (O. Popova, D.M. Oreshkin, A.I. Milekhin, A. Moldokmatova, V. Chikichev), Kuldzhake Niyazalievna raised the museum's work to a high scientific research level. Expeditions to remote regions for acquiring traditional applied art products expanded and enriched the museum's collection with unique rare exhibits, testifying to the brightness and diversity of Kyrgyz folk art.

A huge number of exhibitions, publications, and museum publications were carried out with her direct participation.

As the museum's collection expanded, the need for a spacious facility arose, and in 1974, a museum was built that met all the requirements for storing the collection, for the work of scientific staff, and for conducting international museum forums and seminars.

The exhibition promises to be very interesting and will last until May 9, 2018.
