An unusual wedding took place in the Issyk-Kul region — two citizens of Russia celebrated their wedding according to Kyrgyz traditions.
The wedding of 68-year-old traveler Valentin Efremov and his 31-year-old fiancée Ekaterina was held on the shore of the lake in Cholpon-Ata.
They signed the marriage certificate in the morning after ascending in a hot air balloon to a height of 50 meters above the lake.
The Akim of the Issyk-Kul region, Danir Imanaliev, noted that such events only enhance the tourist appeal of the area.
The newlyweds will travel around Issyk-Kul for another 10 days, and they plan to fly across the lake from north to south in a hot air balloon.
