In the context of the escalating energy crisis, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a partial lifting of sanctions related to the oil sector of several countries. This decision is aimed at stabilizing oil prices.

Trump noted: “We are making the decision to lift certain sanctions on oil to help lower prices. We have restrictions against some states, and we plan to lift them until the situation stabilizes.” However, he did not specify which countries were involved.

It is worth noting that as of yesterday morning, the price of Brent crude oil reached $119.36 per barrel, representing an increase of 28.77 percent. At the same time, the price of gas on the European exchange on March 9 exceeded $800 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since the beginning of 2023.

Earlier reports indicated that several oil storage facilities in Iran had come under attack from Israel. In light of the situation in the region, Bahrain's state oil and gas company Bapco Energies declared force majeure, which is also related to a recent strike on one of the blocks of its subsidiary refinery.

In response to the Iranian attacks, Qatar suspended liquefied natural gas production at the world's largest plant. QatarEnergy announced the cessation of LNG production, as the strikes affected operational production facilities in the industrial cities of Ras Laffan and Mesaieed. QatarEnergy is a global leader in LNG production, accounting for nearly 20% of the world's total volume.
