Starting May 1, new electricity tariffs will come into effect in Kyrgyzstan, which, according to Timur Orozaliyev, the director of the fuel and energy complex regulation department, will only cover 45% of the actual costs of electricity production. This statement was made during a broadcast on the "Kabar" agency.
Orozaliyev also noted that in 2026, the cost of one kilowatt-hour will be 3 soms and 3 tyiyns.
"The new tariff starting May 1 will be 1 som and 64 tyiyns. Thus, this price only partially corresponds to the cost," he explained.
The deputy general director of JSC "NESK," Ularbek Duysho uulu, added that electricity tariffs in Kyrgyzstan remain the lowest in Central Asia.
