On May 19, a round table on the topic "EAEU as an opportunity for Kyrgyzstan to modernize the national economy" will be held in Bishkek.
According to the moderator of the event, political scientist Igor Shestakov, one of the main tasks of the forum is to discuss specific areas of participation of the business community in projects that are key to the national economy.
– In this regard, the participation of representatives of the Kyrgyz-Russian Development Fund is expected, which, as is known, will provide funding for the implementation of outline business projects. The Russian side has allocated funding in the amount of 1 billion 200 million. Until this community becomes a full-fledged participant in the integration processes, the role of the Kyrgyz Republic in the EAEU can only be discussed from the perspective of official protocols. However, as is known, over the years of cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, hundreds, if not thousands, of various intergovernmental documents have been signed, but they have not reflected real interaction. Therefore, given that President Atambaev's course is aimed at outline steps in interaction with the EAEU, we hope that this interaction will be filled with real actions.
