The campaign 'Global Money Week' has started in Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan, the campaign "Global Money Week" began on March 14, during which educational activities and competitions will be held for children and youth throughout the republic, including remote regions and villages. Excursions to financial institutions and banks will also be organized. The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic acts as the campaign coordinator.

"Global Money Week" is an annual international campaign conducted by the "Child and Youth Finance" community in more than 100 countries around the world. The main mission of "Money Week" is to promote financial inclusion, accessible financial products, and financial education for children and youth. Kyrgyzstan has been participating in this campaign for the third year. In 2015, thanks to "Money Week," it was possible to unite and coordinate the efforts of 17 public and non-governmental institutions. During that campaign, more than 160 events were organized, attended by over 6,000 participants.

– We want to visually demonstrate to children and young people how the financial market works, what it represents, how citizens, including their parents, are involved in its operations, and how they themselves can be involved, – says Mirlan Maitpasov, the chief specialist of the consumer rights protection and financial literacy department of the NBKR. All this is done with one, but very important, goal – to develop a culture of savings among the younger generation and provide children and young people with knowledge so that in the future they can make informed financial decisions and build their wealth. One of the main tasks of Money Week is to convey to the citizens of our country that financial literacy in everyday life is of great importance for every Kyrgyzstani.

Mirlan Maitpasov also noted that at the initiative of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan, a "Program for Improving the Financial Literacy of the Population of the Kyrgyz Republic for the period 2016-2020" has been developed. According to him, this program "sets achievable goals and objectives in the field of improving the financial literacy of the population, based on a combination of interests and the division of responsibilities between the state and citizens in achieving the financial stability of families and individuals, economic growth, and social stability in the Kyrgyz Republic."
