"Planes Are Not More Expensive Than Jeeps"

The International Center for Informatics and Electronics "InterEVM" proposes to establish a light aircraft assembly plant in Kyrgyzstan. This was reported by Vyacheslav Vasyagin, Deputy General Director for International and Foreign Economic Relations of the organization, during a round table discussion titled "Russia-Kyrgyzstan: the state and prospects for the development of economic cooperation." It is noted that the aircraft assembled at the plant will not only have compact dimensions but also a relatively low price.

- The cost of the planes we plan to present is equivalent to the price of jeeps, of which there are quite a few in Kyrgyzstan, - explained Vasyagin. - The enterprises are ready to consider the assembly of two- and four-seat passenger planes. They can be used for agricultural needs, emergencies, border services, and so on. Businesspeople we met with said they would also gladly buy such planes for tourism services, to be able to fly to Issyk-Kul. Currently, there is a question about the restoration and utilization of seven airfields that existed here during the Soviet era.

As reported by "Sputnik Kyrgyzstan," there was an earlier attempt to implement this project, but for a number of reasons, it was not successful. However, such a need has arisen again due to the development of Kyrgyzstan as a tourist destination. The project's cost is estimated at approximately 10 million dollars. The average price of a light aircraft, according to preliminary calculations, will be 150,000 dollars.
