World Economic Forum 2014-2015: Kyrgyzstan improved its position by 3 places in the GDP ranking


Kyrgyzstan ranked 128th in terms of gross domestic product among 144 countries with $7.2 billion (2013 figure). This is stated in the Global Competitiveness Index 2014-2015 report prepared by the World Economic Forum.

Russia ranked 8th with a GDP of $2 trillion 118 billion.
Kazakhstan ranked 46th with a GDP of $220.3 billion. Ukraine ranked 56th with a GDP of $177.8 billion.

For the first time, Tajikistan appeared in the ranking, holding the 124th position with $8.5 billion.

The top ten countries with the highest GDP, besides Russia, included: the USA - 1st place ($16 trillion 799.7 billion), China - 2nd place ($9 trillion 181.4 billion), Japan - 3rd place ($4 trillion 901.5 billion), Germany - 4th place ($3 trillion 636 billion), France - 5th place ($2 trillion 737.4 billion), the United Kingdom - 6th place ($2 trillion 535.8 billion), Brazil - 7th place ($2 trillion 242.9 billion), Italy - 9th place ($2 trillion 72 billion), and India - 10th place ($1 trillion 870.7 billion).

The bottom three countries with the lowest GDP were: Cape Verde - 142nd place ($1.9 billion), Seychelles - 143rd place ($1.4 billion), and Gambia - 144th place ($900 million).

In the 2013-2014 ranking among 148 countries, Kyrgyzstan held the 131st position with a GDP of $6.5 billion.

Russia also held the 8th position with a GDP of $2 trillion 22 billion, Kazakhstan - 50th place with a GDP of $196.4 billion, and Ukraine - 53rd place with a GDP of $176.2 billion.
