Now every city dweller over 18 can find a company for leisure
Residents of Bishkek who frequently use the social network "VKontakte" now have the opportunity to diversify their leisure activities. An open group called "Bishkek Meetups" has been established for finding new friends with similar interests and for those who are already 18 years old.

The project was initiated by a Bishkek resident under the nickname Dmitry Cavalli. Offline, the guy studies and is passionate about motorsport, while online, he ensures that young people have the opportunity to spend their leisure time diversely by finding like-minded individuals on the Internet.

- The idea to create our group was born after I visited Moscow, attended a so-called meetup, and the idea came to me: why not create a "Bishkek Meetups" group for the residents of Kyrgyzstan? For us, this is, you could say, something new! Our group is a bulletin board for "meetups," or for people who want to "crash," spend the night somewhere, and meet new people. A meetup is not just a party where people drink alcohol and hang out to loud music; like-minded individuals can also gather at a meetup to discuss the same books, artists, or cheer for the same sports team! – he told IA.

The group rules warn about the dangers associated with new acquaintances and visiting unfamiliar apartments – from inadequate hosts to inappropriate guests at the meetup, coercion to consume alcohol or unknown substances, and potential harm to material possessions and health. The rules also describe the conduct expected within the group – in particular, the promotion of drugs and other mood-enhancing substances is prohibited, as well as guidelines for conducting safe meetups and participating in them. So far, there have been no incidents violating community norms among its more than 100 participants.
- I don’t see anything complicated in managing the group so far; I have people who actively help me with this. The main thing is the adequacy of the admin and understanding the group’s audience. Then everyone will enjoy visiting it! I don’t isolate myself from the audience, as many public admins do; I enjoy communicating with the participants of our group! The group is, let’s say, still a bit raw, but I think there will soon be more than one meetup held; we will strive to develop this "culture"! – Cavalli shared his plans for the future.
