The opening of the III WNG will take place on September 2, and the closing on the 8th.
It is expected that 3,000 athletes from 80 countries will participate. There will also be honored guests. The presidents of Mongolia, Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, have verbally confirmed their attendance.
“So far, we only have verbal confirmation; no official written confirmation has been received yet. There will be other honored guests as well; we are currently negotiating. Talks are underway regarding the arrival of a famous personality, a goodwill ambassador from a well-known international organization. We will provide all the details later,” added Ayzhan Abdesova, a staff member of the secretariat.
Approximately 500 representatives of the media from 50 countries will be invited to cover the event.
The press service of the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism has provided the program of events for the III World Nomad Games.
In Bishkek, from August 26 to 31, the 61st International Altaistic Conference "Folk Games, Traditions, and Customs" will be held as part of the WNG.
In Cholpon-Ata, from September 2 to 4, an international seminar on "Legal Protection of Traditional Knowledge" will take place. The opening and closing ceremonies of the WNG will also be held there on September 2 and 8.
From September 3 to 6, the following events are planned in the Kyrchyn mountain gorge:
— a theatrical performance "The Golden Age of Nomads";
— national songs and dances;
— a display of national costumes;
— theatrical performances showcasing national traditions and customs;
— traditional nomadic games;
— the installation of a Kyrgyz yurt;
— tasting of national dishes;
— demonstration of folk crafts and trades;
— visual arts (painting, graphics, sculpture);
— recitation of epics from the peoples of the world;
— an international festival "Mongu";
— the final of the international competition "Aitysh" (oral improvisation);
— theatrical performances of medieval battles;
— a presentation of the cuisine of nomadic peoples;
— horseback tricks.
From September 3 to 7 in Cholpon-Ata (at the racetrack, in the physical culture and health complex, and the "Eurasia" boarding house), the following will take place:
— national games;
— horse racing;
— equestrian competitions;
— competitions in national wrestling styles;
— competitions in martial arts;
— traditional intellectual games;
— competitions in traditional archery;
— competitions in salbuuрун (a national hunting style);
From September 4 to 7, the international ethnocultural festival "Universe of Nomads" will be held at the Bosteri amphitheater "Nomad," which will include an ethnobazaar and recitations of epics and legends.
The total budget for the Games has not been disclosed by the secretariat, but it is known that 316 million soms have been allocated from the budget. In addition, the organizers are seeking sponsorship support from local companies, but the secretariat has stated that negotiations are still ongoing. This year, the general sponsor will be Centerra Gold Inc.
