According to the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), a corruption scheme has been uncovered at the Republican Blood Center.
The investigation has established that “K.B.B.”, while being the director of the RBC, was involved in organizing the installation of expensive medical equipment, including the Cobas S201 PCR laboratory and the ARCHITECT Plus and ABBOTT laboratory. After the equipment was installed, a contract was signed with the LLC “M” for the supply of reagents for the laboratories, which supplied materials at inflated prices for 5 years, with a portion of the funds being returned to the former director as a “kickback”.
During the audit of the financial activities of the RBC for the period from 2020 to 2025, the investigation revealed damage to the state amounting to 36 million soms, which was caused by the actions of “K.B.B.” and the supplier LLC “M”.
On March 5, 2026, the former director of the RBC “K.B.B.” was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the GKNB of Kyrgyzstan, and a legal assessment will be conducted regarding the head of LLC “M” during the investigation.
Currently, operational and investigative measures are ongoing to identify other officials involved in this corruption scheme.
