The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of Kyrgyzstan is conducting active operations to neutralize the leaders and high-profile members of the banned religious extremist organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir." According to the SCNS, on March 7, 2026, investigative and operational activities were carried out as part of a criminal case aimed at eliminating the threat posed by structured cells of this organization in the Jalal-Abad region.

The detained individual is "M.N.E.," who held the position of a masul (leader) of the Suzak district. He maintained contacts with the heads of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" both in Kyrgyzstan and internationally. For several years, "M.N.E." actively promoted extremist ideas among the local population, recruited new followers, distributed extremist materials, and collected money from ordinary members to finance his activities, the SCNS reports.

The leader detained as part of the criminal case has been placed in the SCNS detention center of the KR. Necessary operational and investigative actions are currently ongoing to identify structural cells and other criminal connections.

The SCNS of the KR reminds citizens of the possible criminal liability for participating in the activities of extremist and terrorist organizations recognized as banned in the country.
