The police are investigating a possible connection of the detainees to more than a dozen similar crimes.
In Bishkek, law enforcement officers detained individuals suspected of stealing a bicycle, reports the city’s Main Internal Affairs Directorate.
According to information from the agency, on March 6, a statement was received at the Oktyabrsky District Police Department from a citizen with the initials U.B.
He reported that on March 5, around 19:00, his Giant brand bicycle was stolen by unknown individuals near one of the houses in the 7th microdistrict. The estimated value of the stolen item is about 40,000 soms.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under Article 205 "Theft" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
As a result of operational-search activities, two suspects were identified and detained: D.Z., born in 2008, and B.Z., born in 2007.
One of the detainees has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
Currently, the police are investigating more than 10 other instances of crimes that may be connected to the detainees.
