The military prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case against former Minister of Emergency Situations Urmatbek Shamyrkanov on charges of receiving a bribe. This information has been confirmed by the Military Prosecutor's Office and published in the "AKIpress Summary."

The agency noted that "a legal assessment of the situation will be provided following the investigation."

On March 10, President Sadyr Japarov made the decision to relieve Urmatbek Shamyrkanov from his position as head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. According to the president's press secretary Askat Alagozov, the dismissal is related to suspicions that, while previously serving as deputy minister, Shamyrkanov may have received a bribe.
