The delegation from Kyrgyzstan was very popular at the international festival of national cultures "Berdemlek — Commonwealth" of the SCO and BRICS member countries in Ufa, reported the General Director of the Republican Center for Folk Art, Bayras Ishberdin.
According to him, in the run-up to the summits from June 3 to 9, a festival was held in the Republic of Bashkortostan that gathered masters of arts from various genres. Dance, vocal groups, and solo folk performers showcased the unique culture of their peoples in the Belebeyevsky, Tuymazinsky, and Davlekanovsky districts, as well as in the cities of Ufa and Oktyabrsky.
"More than 50,000 spectators from Bashkortostan had the pleasure of witnessing performances by participants from India, South Africa, China, Brazil, and the CIS countries," said Ishberdin.
He noted that one of the most popular among the audience and festival participants was the delegation from Kyrgyzstan.
"Beautiful costumes, magnificent voices, and soulful melodies left no one indifferent. Participants and spectators literally did not give the folk group 'Zhetigen' a break and actively took photos with them," said the director.
He mentioned that the cultures of the Bashkir and Kyrgyz peoples are very similar, and Kyrgyzstanis are very frequent guests in Bashkortostan, where they are always welcomed.
