Bikers around the world remember their comrades on September 18. This day serves as a reminder of all the dangers that fill the life of every motorcyclist. The motorcycle brotherhood lays flowers on the graves of fallen friends, conducts motorcycle rides, and holds memorial events that urge participants on the road to be more attentive and to remember their responsibility for their own lives and those of others. However, Kyrgyz bikers have their own mourning date.
- We have been commemorating the Day of Remembrance for Fallen Motorcyclists since 2013. That year was very bloody; many bikers lost their lives. One of them was Roman Angelov, a veteran of the motorcycle movement in the republic, who was known by almost everyone. September 29 marked 40 days since his death, and it was decided to hold the first Day of Remembrance then, - said News-Asia Askat Seyitbekov, head of the Motorcycle Community of the KR. – Now we remember our departed comrades on this day every year. This year we lost four more…
In 2015, the desire of the motorcycle community to ride through the city in memory of the departed was supported by the DPS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KR, which provided escort vehicles and inspectors. More than a hundred bikers gathered for the mourning motorcycle ride and evening of remembrance. Differences between chopper riders, enduro riders, scooter riders, and sport bikers were forgotten, and they all rode in a united column with black ribbons on their handlebars around the ring on the Southern Highway. Upon returning to "Peppers," they honored the memory of the fallen with the roar of engines and a moment of silence. Then a small concert took place, featuring songs about friendship, memory, and biker life.
