
Taras Tokombaev was born on July 5, 1930, in Moscow, in the family of the famous poet Aaly Tokombaev, and dedicated his entire life to his homeland. After serving in the Soviet Border Troops, he headed a defense organization at the Central Committee, later working with veterans, becoming the deputy editor and responsible secretary of the "Book of Memories," written by World War II veterans. Since 2001, Tokombaev has led the Organization of War, Labor, Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement Veterans of the KR, as well as the editorial board of the "Book of Memories." At the same time, Tokombaev was active in public life, particularly in preventing the distortion of history from the Great Patriotic War. For his merits, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the "Dank" medal, the Russian Order for Military Merit, and many other medals.
The civil memorial service, where people can say goodbye to Taras Tokombaev, will take place on Thursday, February 11, at his father's museum in Bishkek at the intersection of Chokmorov Street and Erkindik Avenue. The funeral will be held the same day at the Ala-Archa Cemetery.
