Car Fashion in Kyrgyzstan

The trend for new state license plates has surpassed the recent trend of turbocharged cars. The State Registration Service has reported record figures for the sale of license plates. Since the beginning of summer 2016, more than ten thousand sets of plates have been issued. This is more than the two-month norm.

Earlier, the media frequently reported on the wild popularity of turbocharged cars. These models have become widely popular among the youth of Kyrgyzstan. At regularly held auto and motorcycle festivals, cars with turbochargers took honorable first places. It is undeniable that a common service in auto repair shops was the repair of car turbos turbostar.com.ua/ or the installation of sound systems that mimic the sound of a turbo.

Even more popular is window tinting in Kyrgyzstan. Even regular traffic police raids cannot solve this problem. After each inspection, drivers reapply tint film. It seems that the city of Bishkek has turned into a territory of bandits and deputies, with every third SUV being tinted. Today, the fine for applying tint to the front side windows is two thousand soms, but even this amount does not scare car owners. A few dozen special vehicles have permission to tint front windows, and for safety reasons, the names of the people and the brands of the cars are not disclosed. Deputy Daniyar Terbishaliev proposed allowing anyone to tint their windows, noting that the number of accidents is not related to tinted windows; however, in countries with a hot climate, it is simply necessary.

Today we are witnessing a new automotive boom – state license plates. In such unusual purchases, the residents of the capital, Bishkek, stand out. The Chui region ranks second, and Osh region is third. Similar license plates are widely used in forty-five countries in Europe and the CIS.

Let us recall that on December 7, Prime Minister Temir Sariev signed a decree introducing new state vehicle license plates. Instead of the usual Latin letters, the plates were assigned numbers that indicated the names of the regions.

• City of Bishkek — 01
• City of Osh — 02
• Batken Region — 03
• Jalal-Abad Region — 04
• Naryn Region — 05
• Osh Region — 06
• Talas Region — 07
• Chui Region — 08
• Issyk-Kul Region — 09

The plates use a unique font that can prevent the widespread cases of forgery, and moreover, road cameras recognize this font better. The introduction of new plates was carried out as part of the "Safe City" project.
