Alykbek Dzekshenkulov: "Poverty, Crime, Corruption, and the Quality of the Ruling Elite – Serious Challenges for Kyrgyzstan"

Alikbek Djekshenkulov: 'Poverty, crime, corruption, and the quality of the ruling elite are serious challenges for Kyrgyzstan'
“The EAEU has become a lifeline for Kyrgyzstan in matters of information security,” stated former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Professor at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Alikbek Djekshenkulov during the round table “Information Security of the Eurasian Economic Union – a Condition for Political Stability,” which took place in Bishkek at the international press center “IA”.

According to the former minister, “poverty, crime, corruption, and the quality of the ruling elite” raise serious concerns regarding the preservation of stability in Kyrgyzstan. Djekshenkulov noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is located in the Fergana Valley and has quite tense relations with its neighbors. Interethnic problems, the expert pointed out, are also unresolved.

– The only solution in this situation is the formation of a joint ideology of Eurasian partnership based on the equality of partners. This would strengthen security in the region and minimize economic, social, and other risks, – said Alikbek Djekshenkulov.
