According to the participants of the Forum, the need for such a discussion has increased after the parliamentary elections. The "most honest and transparent" elections in the history of the Kyrgyz Republic turned out, as predicted, to be a lobbying of the interests of the oligarchy and large business. Combined with other problems of the republic—interethnic and intercultural contradictions, social inequality, migration, unmarked and undelimited borders—this could lead to disaster. Recent global events also play a negative role, which inevitably affect the Kyrgyz Republic,
- Issues of the republic need to be not only discussed but also resolved. The goals, objectives, and actions of the Bishkek Forum are aimed precisely at this, and we are grateful to those who decided to cooperate with us. We hope that everyone will express their opinions on this platform, regardless of religious, ethnic, political, or any other affiliation. The world is becoming dark, and we have nothing to divide, – noted one of the event organizers, Adakhan Madumarov, co-chairman of the "Butun Kyrgyzstan-Emgek" party. – We chose the topic for the meeting a month ago – even before the tragic events in Egypt, where a Russian plane crashed, and the terrorist attacks in Turkey and France. Now, security issues are relevant for Kyrgyzstan, whether it be Bishkek, Jumgal, or Chatkal districts. Therefore, we gathered all the experts who could share their insights on the problems and discuss ways to solve them.
Reports were presented on various topics – from ensuring information, cultural, and ideological security to issues concerning border territories. At the end of the event, the participants developed a series of practical recommendations for Kyrgyz politicians and civil society. Additionally, it was decided to establish a permanent NGO "Bishkek Forum" based on the forum and to hold a meeting in February 2016 on the topic of "Information Security" involving experts from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and China. In the fall, a Central Asian forum will be held on all security issues.
