During his presentation on "The Influence of the Geopolitical Situation on Internal Processes in Kyrgyzstan," Suyunbaev noted that due to geographical reasons, Kyrgyzstan has always been divided into the North and the South.
– In the South, they grow cotton and rice; the economic structure there is completely different from that in the North of the KR, – the professor points out. – This largely affects the fact that political parties in the republic are formed based on clan affiliation. They are mainly supported by representatives of the clan to which the party belongs, which cannot yield more than 2.5 percent of the required 7 percent.
According to Suyunbaev, in order to enter parliament, parties are forced to unite; however, there is no internal unity in the formed tandems. Therefore, they always disband shortly after the elections.
– Political parties should be created based on social stratification, for example, parties of workers, agricultural producers, etc. However, such parties simply do not exist in Kyrgyzstan, – concluded Suyunbaev.
