A unified database of officials convicted of official crimes will be created in Kyrgyzstan

The General Prosecutor's Office of Kyrgyzstan must establish a unified database of officials who have been prosecuted for committing official crimes related to corruption, as well as the embezzlement of state and municipal property, by June 1, 2018. The decision of the Security Council, which outlines this and other steps at the state level to combat and eradicate corruption as a threat to national security, was signed by the head of the republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

Additionally, by September 2018, the supervisory authority has been tasked with creating a complete electronic registry of all lost criminal cases in law enforcement and judicial bodies of the country. Furthermore, the General Prosecutor is required to conduct an inventory of all criminal cases related to official and economic crimes and to identify violations in the investigation processes. The Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic will also be involved in identifying violations; in particular, by July 1, 2018, the agency is tasked with analyzing acquittals, annulments of court decisions, and cases of termination of criminal proceedings in the same area.

It should be noted that in January, the government of the Kyrgyz Republic compiled a ranking of the corruption levels of ministries and agencies in the republic, with the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic at the top, followed by the State Penitentiary Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Economic Crimes Investigation Service, the Ministry of Education, and the tax authority.
