18-year-old Ulan captivated the residents of Ankara with his talent
Eighteen-year-old Ulan from Jeti-Oguz plays the komuz virtuously, performs songs in the ethnic style, and participates in various competitions.
A fourth-year student at the Issyk-Kul Music College (Department of Folk Instruments and Dastan) named after Ibrai Tumanov, Ulan Ismailov is gaining popularity in the region despite his young age. “I started attending komuz classes at the Sherimbek Sharshiev Music School in the village of Kyzyl-Suu in the Jeti-Oguz district since the 6th grade. I began singing in the first grade, performing mainly at school events. I love Kyrgyz folk songs and songs in the ethnic style. There is something in them that inspires me and fills me with positive emotions. I am grateful to my teachers Botbay Kulambaev and Gulzat eje, who revealed my talent and helped me in my creativity,” Ulan shares.
Thanks to his talent and efforts, Ulan visited the city of Ankara in Turkey. For foreign audiences, he performed only 6 numbers, which the audience supported with applause that turned into a standing ovation. The residents of Ankara, as Ulan says, received his work with admiration. The young talent often travels to competitions and festivals in the Osh and Talas regions.
Recently, Ulan opened his own dance club in the village of Zhalgyz-Oruk in the Jeti-Oguz district. Both girls and boys attend his dance group. In the future, he sees himself in the field of choreography. To achieve better results, he attends choreography courses in Karakol. “In my family, I have older sisters and brothers; there are a total of 5 children. My dad works in law enforcement, and my mom is a healthcare worker. My dad plays the komuz. Perhaps when he played, that’s when my talent awoke, the desire to play the national instrument and sing folk songs. My family supports me, for which I am very grateful and always happy that I can bring them joy,” Ulan proudly talks about his family.
After graduating from the music college, Ulan intends to continue developing in this field and reach new heights and successes. For now, he delights audiences in Issyk-Kul and other regions of the country with his talent by participating in various festivals and competitions.
