Skier Evgeny Timofeev took 40th place in the "slalom" discipline at the Winter Olympic Games in Korea on February 22.



This result was the best among skiers from Kyrgyzstan at the Winter Olympic Games.

For the first time, Kyrgyz skiing was represented at the Olympics in Turin (Italy) in 2006 by Andrey Borisov. The Kyrgyz athlete competed in two disciplines, finishing 41st in the giant slalom and 59th in the slalom.

In 2010, Dmitry Trelevsky went to Vancouver (Canada), where he finished 76th in the giant slalom and did not finish in the slalom.

In 2014, at the Sochi (Russia) Olympics, 19-year-old Evgeny Timofeev placed 61st in the giant slalom and 41st in the slalom.

On February 18, 2018, Timofeev finished 63rd in the giant slalom at the Games in Korea, and on February 22, he became 40th in the slalom.

This result is the best among all skiers from Kyrgyzstan since 2006.
