The opponent responded to several goals from the home team with just one goal
The Kyrgyzstan national football team qualified for the final part of the 2019 Asian Football Championship by defeating the Myanmar national team.
The match, part of the qualifying round of the Asian Championship (also known as the Asian Cup), took place today in Incheon, South Korea.
Kyrgyzstan scored a goal in the second minute, with Islam Shamsiev finding the net. Three minutes later, winger Anton Zemlyanukhin scored another goal. The first half ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the Kyrgyzstan team.
In the second half, Zemlyanukhin increased the lead to 3:0. Several more goals followed, to which the Myanmar players responded with just one goal. The final score was 5:1.
This victory automatically guarantees a place in the final part of the 2019 Asian Championship, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates. This will be Kyrgyzstan's first participation in this tournament. If the team defeats India in their last home qualifying match on March 27, they will advance to the Asian Championship from the first place.
The match between Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar was supposed to take place last autumn. It was postponed by the decision of the Kyrgyz government for security reasons, as well as due to the alarming situation in Myanmar and the significant public outcry it caused last autumn. The Asian Football Confederation then decided to hold the match in South Korea on March 22.
