“I want to thank the leadership of the Football Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is making every effort to promote and develop this sport in our country. Football needs to be developed, as it is the most popular sport on earth, with millions of fans. I am convinced that over time, our country will also have stars who will delight us with their performances in leading championships,” said Joomart Otorbaev at the meeting.
“Now, you football players and coaching staff need to focus on the AFC Challenge Cup matches, as winning this tournament grants the right to participate in the XVI Asian Championship in Australia. The upcoming games will be tough, as there are no easy opponents at this stage of the competition. Therefore, maximum concentration, a positive attitude for each game, and a desire to win are essential – then you will accomplish the task at hand. I wish you success and bright victories,” Otorbaev concluded.

It should be noted that for the successful performance of the Kyrgyz national team in the Challenge Cup, the Football Federation has conducted several training camps abroad and played friendly matches away against the national teams of Estonia, Moldova, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kuwait, Indonesia, and Afghanistan.
Yesterday, the national team flew to Kuwait for their next training camp. The training camp will also include friendly matches against the teams of Afghanistan (May 12) and Kuwait (May 16). This camp will last until May 17, and immediately after it, our footballers will head to the Maldives.
