The 2nd festival "Open Issyk-Kul" took place in the Issyk-Kul region on June 14-15 under the slogan of strengthening peace, friendship, and mutual understanding among peoples.
The ceremonial opening of the festival took place at the cultural center "Rukh Ordo," where during the official part, speeches were made by deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh, honored guests, and others.
In his welcoming speech, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Bakhtiyar Kadyrov noted that Kyrgyzstan is a very strong, reliable, and kind republic.
“Today I embody the resort season. With this event, we all wanted to say that Kyrgyzstan is a very strong, reliable, and kind republic that honors traditions, symbols, and everything progressive that is embedded in a person. We embody pride, strive to know the most perfect on earth; it’s a bit difficult, but you can’t deny our striving,” he said.
In turn, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security of Kyrgyzstan, Chairman of the Republican Council of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Mirlan Torobekov emphasized that any war ends with peace.
“What the veterans of the Afghan war and the veterans of the Great Patriotic War tried to do with this event is to take a small step into a big world. And by participating, we have already made a certain contribution in terms of peace, friendship, and its strengthening. And any attempt, small or large, even a small percentage, will still yield results,” he said.
On June 14, an aviation, auto, and motorcycle show was held at the Cholpon-Ata airport. Parachuting masters demonstrated jumps with the flags of the CSTO and a salute depicting a pennant.
On June 15, horse races took place at the racetrack in the village of Bosteri, underwater orientation was held at the Cholpon-Ata yacht club, and a motorcycle show took place in the Semenov Gorge.
The event was attended by Deputy Governor of the Issyk-Kul region Akylbek Zhanibekov, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs Bakhtiyar Kadyrov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Defense and Security of Kyrgyzstan, Chairman of the Republican Council of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Mirlan Torobekov. Also present were honored guests, cosmonauts and heroes of Russia and Belarus Oleg Natsivsky, as well as hero of Russia and Kyrgyzstan Salizhan Sharipov.
The organizers are the Organization of Veterans of War, Labor, Armed Forces, and Law Enforcement Agencies of the Kyrgyz Republic in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic.
