According to the official website of the competition, in the semifinal matches, Dastan Lepshakov faced Joseph Abramov from Russia. The Kyrgyz player won against his opponent decisively, winning five consecutive games - 5:0.
In the second match for a spot in the final, Chyngyz Zholochiev will play against Ukrainian billiard player Andrey Klyestov. The opponents played seven games, and Zholochiev won five of them, with the match score being 5:2.
Now two Kyrgyzstani players - Lepshakov and Zholochiev - will compete for the gold medal of the world championship.
The losers in the semifinals, Klyestov and Abramov, will take home the bronze medals of the world championship.
It is worth noting that 32 participants were invited to the championship based on the quotas distributed by the International Billiards Confederation. Kyrgyzstan, as the host, has fielded 12 players.
Let us remind you that this year, two world championships in billiards in the "combined pyramid" discipline will be held in Kyrgyzstan. The youth world championship started on August 23 on the shores of Issyk-Kul, and the men's championship will take place from August 27 to 31. The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 27 at the "Rukh-Ordo" ethno-complex.
