Kyrgyzstan Prepares for the Opening of the Summer Tourist Season

Kyrgyzstan is preparing for the opening of the summer tourist season

A meeting of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic was held to address the issues of preparing and conducting the new summer tourist season in 2015, with the participation of all state agencies, local governments, and tourism associations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Vice Prime Minister - Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Damira Niyazalieva noted that one of the most pressing issues on the agenda is ensuring the safety of tourists and improving service in the tourism sector.
“Tour operators must create conditions for tourists. And we (the government) must create favorable conditions for the development of the industry. Well-organized services lead to revenue generation. We must ensure safety and service for tourists, and everything else will be taken care of by our Issyk-Kul, nature, and weather,” emphasized D. Niyazalieva.
According to the director of the tourism department at the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, Maxat Chakiyev, boarding houses and sanatoriums in the Issyk-Kul region are being checked for readiness for the summer tourist season. There are more than 200 boarding houses, sanatoriums, and guest houses on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul, of which about 150 facilities meet all standards. Work will need to be done with the others to address deficiencies, he said.
In terms of emergency prevention, it is planned to conduct underwater research of the Issyk-Kul waters to clean them of debris and objects. Special inspections are also planned to avoid possible incidents, avalanches, and landslides along the main tourist routes.
Additionally, for the convenience of tourists, brochures will be released with the phone numbers of all necessary emergency and rescue services that can be contacted in case of need.
In Kyrgyzstan, it is believed that the country can become the main tourist destination of the Eurasian Economic Union.
