Issyk-Kul and Bishkek entered the ranking of the most popular tourist destinations in the CIS


Issyk-Kul Lake and Bishkek have become some of the most popular destinations in the CIS for tourists, reports the Russian travel portal Travel.ru.

According to the resource, the ranking of the most popular resort destinations in the CIS countries is led by Issyk-Kul Lake, the Borovoe resort (Kazakhstan), Khudat (Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan), Lake Sevan (Armenia), and Lake Naroch (Belarus).

The portal found out which cities in the CIS will attract the most Russian tourists for vacations in the summer of 2015. The ranking is based on hotel booking data from June 1 to August 31, 2015, by tourists traveling independently, without the help of travel agencies.

The top ten cities in the CIS for summer trips include Minsk, Yerevan, Baku, Chisinau, Almaty, Kyiv, Astana, Vitebsk, Bishkek, and Odessa.

According to Travel.ru, Russian tourists will spend an average of four days in Minsk during the summer and will spend about $80 per night on hotel accommodations, $55 per night in Yerevan, and $60 per night in Baku. The most budget-friendly capital in the CIS is Chisinau ($35 per night), while the most expensive is Astana ($93 per night).
