A New Train for Tourists Will Run from Tashkent to Lake Issyk-Kul

A new train for tourists will be launched from Tashkent to Lake Issyk-Kul
Starting August 16, Uzbekistan will launch a tourist train running on the route "Tashkent - Balykchy". According to "Uzbekistan Railways", the train will depart from Tashkent on August 16, 23, and 30 at 13:27.

- The arrival time in Balykchy will be on August 17, 24, and 31 at 12:44. In the opposite direction, the train will leave on August 18, 25, and September 1 at 02:55. The arrival time in Tashkent the next day will be at 07:43, - report Uzbek railway workers.

The train will consist of a compartment car, a reserved seat car, and a dining car. The ticket price is 232,000 sums (approximately 5,600 soms).
It should be noted that an attempt to launch a passenger train "Tashkent - Balykchy - Tashkent" was already made in the summer of 2009. At that time, the tourist train with 350 seats ran the route weekly. The travel time one way was about 24 hours. However, due to unprofitability, this service was canceled.

Before the opening of the tourist season at Issyk-Kul, the international airport Tamchy was also opened, capable of receiving passenger planes. Thanks to the flight "Almaty - Tamchy", tourists from Kazakhstan can now reach Lake Issyk-Kul in just 30 minutes.

According to the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Temir Sariyev, construction of the "Almaty - Cholpon-Ata" highway may soon begin.
- A direct flight "Almaty - Tamchy" has already been established, but this is not enough. We need to build a high-speed road "Almaty - Cholpon-Ata", which will pass through Kemin and Mikhailovka. On our side, the road to Kemin is already ready. Only the Kazakh section remains. As a result, the distance for those wishing to relax at Issyk-Kul from Kazakhstan will be only 250 km. The journey will take just 2.5 hours, - Sariyev said during a meeting with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov.
