– Currently, there is a direct flight from Almaty to Tamchy, but that is not enough, – said Temir Sariev. – It is necessary to build a high-speed road from Almaty to Cholpon-Ata. The road will pass through Kemin and Mikhailovka. We can assign our agencies to work on this issue. From our side, there is already a road to Kemin (Bishkek – Naryn – Torugart). Once the road is completed, the distance will be only 250 km. Kazakhs will reach Issyk-Kul in 2.5 hours.
Karim Massimov, in turn, supported the issue of constructing the highway and instructed the relevant state agencies of Kazakhstan to expedite the creation of the new road.
It should be noted that most residents of Kazakhstan travel to Issyk-Kul via Almaty. The travel time from the southern capital of Kazakhstan to Cholpon-Ata one way is approximately 10 hours, taking into account the border crossing at Kordai. A charter flight "Almaty – Tamchy – Almaty" was also recently opened, which operates twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays.
