The share of tourism in developed countries reaches 13%, while in Kyrgyzstan it is 5%
The Prime Minister stated that tourist facilities should be created in every village of Kyrgyzstan as much as possible.
Prime Minister Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev held a meeting on the concept of developing the activities of the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Tourism".
The director of the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Tourism", Daniyar Kazakov, spoke about the main areas of activity, current tasks, and plans for the development of the organization.
“Among the main areas of activity of the state enterprise 'Kyrgyz Tourism', we can note: organizing work for the effective management of transferred state tourist facilities, developing and implementing priority projects in the tourism sector, creating new tourist routes through forest management areas, nature parks, reserves, and protected areas, monitoring and analyzing promising territories in regions for the creation of tourist zones, and improving the quality of tourist services by developing and implementing standards and training systems. We have already prepared a project proposal for the creation of a Marketing Center,” he said.
Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev noted that the tourism sector should be profitable, consistently providing revenue to the budget and creating additional jobs in the regions.
“It is necessary to start working in the tourism sector according to new standards and mechanisms that define the overall direction of tourism development, in order to maximize the use of the year-round tourism potential that exists in the country,” he said. “There should be a clear vision of how to mobilize all state resources to give a powerful impetus to the development of tourism, identify new tourist destinations, and implement new business tools. Tourist facilities should be created in every village, where residents can actively participate in promoting tourism. The share of tourism in developed countries reaches 12-13%, while in our case it is 5%. We need to bring this figure up to 7-8%,” he said.
The Prime Minister instructed the relevant state agencies and local government bodies to ensure high-quality development of project proposals for the activities of the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Tourism" within a month, as well as to resolve all funding issues for the organization.
