
The Information, Press and Culture Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified the entry rules for Turkey.
“According to Article 7/1 of the Republic of Turkey Law on Foreigners and International Protection, which came into effect on April 11, 2014, entry into Turkey will be denied to any foreign citizen if the validity of their passport or other travel document expires less than 60 days from the date of visa, visa-free regime, or residence permit expiration. However, according to the decision of the Turkish Cabinet of Ministers dated April 27, 2014, foreign citizens arriving at entry points in Turkey with a passport or other travel document that expires no more than 60 days from the date of visa, visa-free regime, or residence permit expiration will be granted entry into Turkey only until December 31, 2014, in accordance with Article 18 of the Turkish Law on Foreigners and International Protection,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
It is noted that starting from January 1, 2015, foreign citizens wishing to enter Turkey must have a passport or other travel document with a validity of more than 60 days from the date of visa, visa-free regime, or residence permit expiration.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic recommends that citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic intending to travel to Turkey ensure their passports or other travel documents are in order in accordance with the new legislative changes in Turkey, and also emphasizes the necessity to comply with the regulations of stay according to the laws of the country.
