The Silk Road corridor in the Kyrgyz Republic has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The application for the inclusion of part of the Silk Road, which served as a corridor for trade and cultural exchange between Asia and Europe 2000 years ago, was jointly submitted by the Kyrgyz Republic, China, and Kazakhstan and was accepted by the World Heritage Committee at a session in the capital of Qatar.

The application included a total of 33 historical sites located along this millennium-old trade corridor, 22 of which are in China, 8 are located in Kazakhstan, and 3 in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Thus, the components of the Great Silk Road corridor in the Kyrgyz Republic are ancient settlements with a history of over 2000 years: "Krasnaya Rechka" (Nevaket), "Ak-Beshim" (Suyab), and "Burana" (Balasagun). With these inclusions, the total number of sites on the World Heritage List has increased to 992 worldwide.

This significant fact will serve as another impetus to attract tourists to the Kyrgyz Republic as a country with a unique culture and history.
