The Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic reports on the rules for crossing the border of the Kyrgyz Republic for tourists from the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry, the crossing of the border by minors from the Republic of Kazakhstan who are under 16 years old is permitted with the presence of a birth certificate along with a supplementary certificate (with a photograph) indicating their citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For traveling to the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, including Lake Issyk-Kul with children, according to the agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, it is necessary for children to have:

- either a birth certificate for a child under 16 years old, which must include a supplementary certificate (with a photograph) indicating their citizenship of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- or a photo sticker in the passport of one of the parents;

- or the child's own passport;

Supplementary certificates can be obtained free of charge at the migration police office at the place of residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The validity period of the certificate is one year from the date of issuance.

The supplementary certificate is issued by the Migration Police Department.

For residents of Almaty, the Migration Police Department is located at:

Karasai Batyr Street, 109a, corner of Baitursynov Avenue. Window No. 1. To obtain the supplementary certificate, the following documents must be provided:

- An application addressed to the head of the Almaty City Department of Internal Affairs;

- Original and copy of the parents' identity documents;

- Parents' marriage certificate;

- Child's birth certificate;

- Two photographs of the child, size 3*4 cm;

- Address certificate of the parents. The address certificate is issued free of charge at the Public Service Center at the place of residence upon presentation of the original identity document.

An address certificate can also be obtained on the website of the electronic government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The supplementary certificate is processed within 3 working days.
