He also added that Bakiev himself, who reportedly wishes to visit his father's grave, "has as much time left to live as a goat."
“He bears responsibility for the deaths of people during the events of April 7. A criminal case has been initiated against him, and if he appears on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, law enforcement agencies will detain him,” noted Abykeev.
Nevertheless, he emphasized that the responsibility for the tragic events of April 7 is shared not only with Bakiev but also with the interim government. Questions about those killed by bullets fired from behind remain unanswered. I do not claim that Atambaev gave a direct order to shoot, but it is well known that there were armed individuals at the "Forum."The president's advisor stressed that several members of the interim government, including Atambaev, are against Bakiev's return. "Why? Perhaps they are simply afraid. If Bakiev returns, his involvement in legal proceedings will inevitably lead to the revelation of information about the looting that occurred after April 7, as well as about the missing money from bank vaults and the stolen wealth from his relatives' homes," he added.
Abykeev also cited the return of Askar Akayev, against whom there were also objections. "However, after his arrival and responses to law enforcement questions, a number of crimes that had previously gone unnoticed were uncovered. This led to the exposure of criminal activities by high-ranking officials and the return of illegally privatized assets," he noted.
In Abykeev's opinion, Bakiev's return could shed light on many mysteries, especially concerning the lost wealth after April 7. "Perhaps that is why the interim government has not shown much interest in his arrest and prosecution since 2010. It may have been easier for them to blame all the crimes, even those they committed themselves, on Bakiev," he stated.
When asked about the comparability of the crimes of Atambaev and Bakiev, Abykeev remarked: "Wasn't Atambaev released from prison after confessing to the murder of a person during the events in Koi-Tash, claiming that he was the only one with a gun and shot at soldiers in the dark?" He added that it is incorrect for Atambaev to say, "Bakiev shot at people." There is no significant difference in their actions, as both are involved in the embezzlement of state funds.
Abykeev also noted that Atambaev is responsible not only for the death of Usen Niyazbekov but also for the victims of the June events in Osh and Jalal-Abad in 2010. "Wasn't it he who allowed these tragic events, which resulted in the deaths of about 500 people? The organizer of the events, Kadyrzhan Batyrov, and Atambaev met, which Batyrov openly stated in an interview with "Azattyk."
“If Bakiev returns, he must answer in court and before society, providing a lot of information. I am not against this. The trial would be open, and everyone would have a chance to ask questions,” concluded the president's advisor.
