A scandal in district No. 13 and other violations did not affect the overall results
Today, December 7, the Central Election Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic began the process of approving the election results by precincts. The first three candidates who received the highest number of votes in their districts will be elected as deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.
A scandal occurred in district No. 13 related to the annulment of election results, which will lead to re-elections being held there. This is due to the replacement of the chairpersons of 35 precinct commissions, who were noted "for inactivity that led to violations." In addition, reports of various violations, including possible voter bribery in certain districts, did not significantly affect the overall picture of the election results.
It is worth noting that at the polling stations in district No. 13, observers from one of the candidates installed a video surveillance system, which was the reason for the annulment of the election results in this district. Now none of the participating candidates will be able to participate in the elections again.
Open sources also mention violations in several districts, including those related to possible voter bribery.
