The Talas Region is located in the northwestern part of the Kyrgyz Republic. It was established on June 22, 1944. The region consists of 4 districts (Talas, Bakai-Ata, Kara-Buura, Manas), 1 city - Talas, and 90 villages, united into 35 ayil okmotu. It borders Kazakhstan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the west, Jalal-Abad Region to the south, and Chui Region to the east.
