The head of the presidential administration commented on the upcoming reforms in the driving school sector
Kanibek Tumanbaev, head of the president's administration, shared his thoughts on social media about the upcoming reforms related to driving education that will affect private driving schools.
He noted that some educational institutions have already expressed dissatisfaction with these changes.
Tumanbaev stated: "Let's not hide it, previously in private driving schools, it was possible to purchase a driver's license. This led to numerous traffic accidents. Recently, a person died as a result of a road conflict. This indicates a lack of basic driving culture. Driving schools do not pay proper attention to the training process. There is chaos on the roads. How many more tragedies must occur? How many people have become disabled? Every accident is a shattered life, the suffering of parents, the tears of children. Compared to 2024, the statistics for 2025 show an increase in the number of accidents. This is not an accident, but a systemic problem that has long been ignored," he said.
Kanibek Tumanbaev also added that the owners and managers of driving schools were notified in advance about the upcoming changes.
"We gathered them at 'Yntymak Ordo' and informed them that reforms would take place. Arguments like 'we didn't know' are not accepted. Everyone knows how training is conducted in driving schools. Many students take the theory test several times. Many drivers are unfamiliar with the basics of traffic rules. We do not want to criticize the instructors; there are true professionals among them, but changes are necessary to improve the quality of driver education. This year, students will only be able to train in those driving schools that will be under state control. We will start accepting applications from mid-February. Of course, our actions will cause dissatisfaction among those who built their business on selling driver's licenses," concluded the official.
