Ambassador: India will transfer a linear accelerator to the Oncology Center of Kyrgyzstan
A ceremonial reception dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the Republic Day of India was held in Bishkek. Congratulations to the guests were expressed by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of India to Kyrgyzstan Birender Singh Yadav and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Imangaziev.

The festive evening was attended by diplomats, representatives of government institutions, international organizations, businessmen, cultural figures, and compatriots from India.

Ambassador Birender Singh Yadav noted that on January 26, 1950, when the Constitution was adopted, India finally freed itself from its colonial past, becoming a sovereign democratic republic. "This day became a historic moment for the country, which has achieved significant successes over the past 77 years," he added.

Despite global challenges, India maintains its status as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. According to Yadav, by 2025, the country will become the fourth largest economy, and it is expected to surpass Germany by 2030, rising to third place.

"India is the largest democracy, demonstrating how democratic processes contribute to development and stability. Thanks to the government's efforts, over 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty," the ambassador noted.

Over the past decade, India has achieved significant progress in various fields, including the creation of the largest digital infrastructure and vaccine production. The country fully ensures food security for its population of 1.4 billion people and actively exports food products.

India also advocates for the interests of developing countries on the international stage, providing support to neighbors in difficult times and being active in humanitarian crises, the ambassador emphasized.

Birender Singh Yadav noted that Kyrgyzstan and India have deep historical ties that are evolving into a strategic partnership. In 2026, when Kyrgyzstan will chair the SCO, cooperation between the countries will become even more active.

The ambassador reported on the preparation of a group of Kyrgyz servicemen in India to participate in the "Khandjar" exercises and an upcoming seminar on the defense industry in Bishkek. He also noted that bilateral trade turnover is currently significantly below its potential, and both sides intend to work on increasing it.

An important step forward was the signing of memorandums of understanding, including projects to create an IT laboratory at the Kyrgyz Economic University and improve the technical base of the Center for General Medical Practice in the Batken region.

Yadav also reported on the replacement of the cobalt-60 source in the Bhabhatron II device, as well as the transfer of the Siddharth II linear accelerator for cancer treatment in Kyrgyzstan.

He expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for protecting the Indian diaspora, especially medical students who contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almaz Imangaziev emphasized that India is a reliable partner of Kyrgyzstan in building a just world order based on international law. "India is one of our closest partners, and we are pleased with their achievements," he added.

The celebration of Republic Day began with the raising of the Indian flag at the embassy, where students and representatives of the diaspora were congratulated on the anniversary. The ambassador read a message from Prime Minister Modi, who emphasized the significance of this holiday for the entire country.

The atmosphere of the celebration was filled with Indian music and dance, adding a special liveliness and emotionality to the event, reflecting the spirit of India.
