Talgat Baisufinov is now the head coach of the national football team of Kazakhstan. This decision was announced by the press service of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) after Baisufinov's successful tenure as acting head coach, a role he held for the past few months. For the 61-year-old specialist, this marks his third return to managing the national team: he previously led the team in 2016–2017 and 2020–2022.
Baisufinov joined the team at the end of September 2025, replacing Ali Aliyev. Initially, he was considered a temporary coach to complete the qualifying cycle while the federation searched for a foreign specialist. However, the impressive results of the team under his leadership changed those plans. Under his guidance, the Kazakhstan team not only achieved a convincing victory over Liechtenstein (4:0) but also managed to draw with strong opponents such as North Macedonia (1:1) and the star-studded Belgium team. These successes convinced the KFF to offer Baisufinov a full contract.
Fans are well acquainted with Baisufinov's coaching style, as he has previously worked with the clubs "Irtysh," "Aksu," "Akzhayik," and "Esil-Bogatyr."
