The Government of Kyrgyzstan plans to double the number of athletes in the country by 2030

The Government of Kyrgyzstan has announced a new ambitious program aimed at developing physical culture and sports in the country. This document, effective until 2030, covers both mass and professional sports, as well as issues related to infrastructure, training specialists, digitalization, and support for national sports.

One of the main objectives of the program is to increase the number of citizens regularly engaged in sports from 15% to 30%. To achieve this goal, it is planned to improve access to sports sections, organize school and student leagues, as well as events for adults and the elderly. Over the course of the year, more than 3,000 mass sports events will be held in the country.

The program includes the construction of affordable sports complexes in rural areas, the creation of accessible sports zones and modular training sites, as well as a complete inventory of sports facilities across the country.

Particular attention will be paid to training personnel, including sports doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, coaches, and referees, as well as modernizing the education system and establishing regional centers for sports medicine. To achieve high results in sports, national teams will have the opportunity to train at new training bases, the reserve training system will be improved, and participation in international competitions will be expanded. Support for national sports, such as kok-boru and Kyrgyz traditional games, will also be strengthened through the establishment of specialized centers in each region.

Digitalization will be an important aspect of the program: a new national e-sport platform will consolidate information about athletes, coaches, competitions, and sports facilities. This will allow for the automation of government services and improve the monitoring of results.

Every six months, state and municipal bodies involved in the implementation of this program will provide reports on the progress of activities. The program aims to create a modern, accessible, and sustainable sports sector that will contribute to the health of the population and enhance the international status of Kyrgyz athletes.
