Deputy Zhanibek Abirov failed to recognize basic road signs

Zhanibek Abirov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, became the subject of discussion after he failed to correctly answer questions from UTRK journalist about the meaning of road signs. His responses, recorded on video, quickly spread across social media, causing a wide resonance.

In particular, he confused the sign "Priority of Oncoming Traffic," calling it "two-way traffic," and the sign "Main Road" with the "Stop" sign. He also explained the "No Entry" sign with the phrase "someone has a main road." Another deputy, Talaybek Masabirov, who claims to have been driving since 1983, also failed to correctly identify the "No Parking" sign.

Abirov's name had previously attracted public attention. In March 2023, a video surfaced on social media showing him in a conflict with a restaurant security guard, using force against him, which drew significant public condemnation.

Residents of the Lenin district of Bishkek, whom Abirov represents, have also repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with his activities. Citizens had previously contacted the editorial office with complaints about the unsatisfactory condition of the roads in their areas, noting that the deputy shows no initiative in addressing these problems.

"Does he even exist or not? We voted for him, and he doesn't even try to defend our rights. Why doesn't he drive through our streets and see how people live?" - local residents expressed their dissatisfaction.
